Precision Flatbed Coater FC-300 is designed to coat the surfaces of sheet substrates using Doctor Blade or Wire bar (also called Meyer bar or wire rod) coating method. It is intended for laboratory R&D and can operate inside a glovebox. The equipment is used for various types of polymer membrane/films, catalyst layers, adhesives, lithium battery substrates, OLEDs, solar photovoltaic films, and related applications.

Main features

  • High coating accuracy and excellent consistency.
  • Wide coating window and suitable for a broad range of viscosities.
  • The coating substrate is held by a vacuum chuck, allowing the substrate to be uniformly secured to the coating platform.
  • The equipment can be operated inside a glovebox under an inert atmosphere.
  • Touchscreen operation enables convenient and efficient adjustment, storage, and control of equipment parameters.

Process Description

Doctor Blade coating method: After the coating material enters the doctor blade edge, it flows intermittently through the gap between the blade edge and the substrate, forming the desired coating layer. The coating thickness is controlled by the gap between the doctor blade and the substrate. The coating accuracy is affected by multiple factors, including the precision of the blade-to-substrate gap, the straightness of the doctor blade edge, the flatness of the coating plate, and the properties of the coating material.

Wire bar coating method: After the coating material enters the wire-wound rod, it is distributed along the helical grooves of the rod and flows out to form the desired coating layer. The coating thickness is controlled by the wire diameter of the rod. The coating accuracy is affected by multiple factors, including the straightness of the wire-wound rod, the flatness of the coating plate, and the properties of the coating material.
