The stack is designed for cathode-dry operation, where the KOH electrolyte circulates only through the anode side. This configuration is a key advantage of AEM electrolysis technology, as it simplifies system design and reduces balance-of-plant costs. In addition, cathode-dry operation improves hydrogen purity compared to conventional designs that circulate KOH through both the anode and cathode compartments.
